Old Friend original RU
Lyrics: Sergio Rykov · 09.10.2026Music: Sergio Rykov · 09.10.2026Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.Dedicated to those who carry invisible threads of support and love through all their lives.Quiet rustle of paws in the hallway,Ragged ball is lying on the desk.He who never once had been to the seasideIs meeting his very last dawn on the earth.ChorusI'm not crying, oh no, I'm not crying.I'm not silent — I sob as you go.And I thought it was meant to be different. My old friend slips away in sleep. And my gaze glides across the worn floorboards,To the toys on the floor in the nook. And the legs of the chairs sing their own song.I stroke gently: "sleep, sleep", and I hum.ChorusI'm not crying, my friend, I'm not crying.Every day's a gift to me.And I thought it would pass, and like alwaysYou would race full speed away.Let me have, my dear friend, this one weakness,Only joy of the years we lived. In my heart you're alive, chasing like alwaysThat same rubber ball out in the yard. -
The Sun Within original RU
Lyrics: Sergio RykovMusic: Sergio Rykov · 08.09.2026Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.Heavy shoulders and a gaze gone dim,Alive and yet at once dead, at randomMy eyes keep wandering over the stones,"No one" and "no way" sound beneath me.I remember myself, in gloom, empty.I remember the dark that filled me. LetNot a spark of hope, not a flash of feeling,Nothing to see, just a burden's weight. Were there moments when I was myself?Where joy was ruling and there was peace?Where the heart was crying and broke into dance,Where there was no sadness, just beauty's voice? So many questions, so many answers. The mind is saying - there's nothing there. But the heart, oh the heart keeps stubbornly crying:"See me, I'm alive!" It aches. It aches, and as in a fog, it hums,It can't go on living the way it did.It can't stop believing, fear and turn back,It can't bring back all that was before. So much love is hidden around,Listen, feel it, drink it in, my friend! There are no barriers, no terms and no lies,The sun is not out there, it is just within. -
Leap of Faith original RU
Lyrics: Sergio RykovMusic: Sergio Rykov · 05.12.2025Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.A step to the unknown, a step into space.I feel the road with my skin. I goWith hope and with faith, afraid as I go,I don't turn back, I go to meet it.ChorusHow many doubts have passed me by,How many times the heart has burned,With fruitless fears while wide awake,Only the waking world keeps us going. It beats like a heart, the fire of dreams,Gently and tremblingly warms. At timesAgain and again it rises in waves,In colours so bright above the water.ChorusChorusA moment of sadness came and went,The old and the new are now all one.The masks are thrown off, no falseness left -I'm holding my ticket firm in my hand. -
Pride original RU
Lyrics: Sergio RykovMusic: Sergio Rykov · 24.11.2025Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.To know is not to be able,To speak is not to do.When boredom strikes my day,Then pride walks into my home. The joy of the day shatters to pieces,Vanishing in the bustle of news.Behind the false creaks of speedOnly the shadow of days remains. What's the time?Seconds, minutes, hours.Day after day they soon go by,Turning into bubbles of years,They close the ring of old age.And they see no way out of it.In my head the heavy, echoing stepsOf pity are thundering.Echoing with falseness,Nasty things tear us apart.Whoever knows what comes nextWill turn onto the course of clarity. There will be no special moral here,Everyone is the captain of their ship. And the clearer the distances seem,Here's the question - and where am I here? -
Never to Last original RU
Lyrics: Sergio RykovMusic: Sergio Rykov · 27.08.2024The author's own translation. The song is sung in: ru.Dedicated to the earthquake in Lisbon on 26.08.2024With a trembling hand, I hold the pen,Slowly in beat, I write again.Let it fly high, no boundaries faced,Heartbeats loud, no return to trace.ChorusI see the sky up above me here,Stars below me, sparkling clear.Whispers soft all around, everywhere,Life can’t be split beyond repair.BridgeNow and then, all’s in the past,Here and there - never to last.Days and weeks already count down,Our world tense like us, waiting round. The dawn’s shape still blurred and gray,We’re apart, drifting away. The planet trembles, the waves collide,Washing the dirt from all sides. The air is charged, it’s buzzing loud,No strength left, breaking free somehow.SpokenDespite all this pain, may joy come into our lives. The joy of a simple day, to live all that the world brings to us,In acceptance and awareness - there is nothing we cannot face together.Without breaking ourselves, each other, or the planet that shelters us. -
Give Me Strength original RU
Music: Sergio Rykov · 01.08.2024Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.Notes of joy all mixed togetherFill the notebook up and sing.Notes of sorrow, as if mocking,Creep in, finding shelter there.Once again the TV's groaning,Headlines shouting, calling usTo dive into a hopeless world,Where life is trampled all around. We are tired of wars and persecution,We are tired of fearing words. We are tired of living in doubt,Where the stingy lie flows out.Let our pride keep whispering stubbornlyThat it wasn't us who started the war.Let them curse and drag us through the mud for the rightTo call the darkness by its name.We were born and survived in it,Cutting people into non-people,Repeating the text learned by heart:It is good where we are not.Hiding lies deep in our senses,Wearing masks for decency,We live through all the pain of creation,Decaying in the stifling grip of power.Fear to admit it melts our courage,Fear to leave it stifles the voice. As anxious as the waiting is,So easily it slows us down.Is this the joy of all creation? Is this its voice? Is there faith in the waiting? Is there God inside of us?Prayer of the Optina EldersLord, grant me to meet with peace of soul everythingthat the coming day will bring me.Grant me to surrender myself completely to Thy holy will.In every hour of this day, instruct and support me in all things.Whatever news I may receive during the day, teach me to accept it with a calm souland the firm conviction that in all things Thy holy will is done.In all my words and deeds, guide my thoughts and feelings. In all unforeseen events, let me not forget that all is sent down by Thee.Teach me to act straightforwardly and wisely with every member of my family, without embarrassing or grieving anyone.Lord, give me the strength to bear the weariness of the coming dayand all the events of the day.Guide my will and teach me to pray, to believe, to hope,to endure, to forgive and to love. -
Missy's Song
Lyrics: William P. Young (The Shack) · the book «The Shack»Music: Sergio Rykov · 29.06.2024Дыханьем на меня повей,Чтобы я мог дышать... Breathe in me . . . deepThat I might breathe... and liveAnd hold me close that I might sleepSoft held by all you giveCome kiss me wind and take my breathTill you and I are oneAnd we will dance among the tombsUntil all death is goneAnd no one knows that we existWrapped in each other’s armsExcept the One who blew the breathThat hides me safe from harm -
The Poet's Commandment original RU
Music: Sergio Rykov · 04.04.2024Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.EpigraphThe law is not always just,And truth is at times outside the law,Where a priest built himself a castle,There the devil builds a temple of concrete. We often take our love of selfVainly, as if we were too good...But only those are good who could show earthly loveTo us out of the kindness of their soul. The winner is not the one who knocks others out,The one who wins in all things is the one who rules himself;Who knows how to love and who lives honestly,In a hard moment, the Lord Himself helps him. When people's souls grow tired of living in malice -Love will cast down hatred forever!Whoever was an enemy may become a friend,Every person will be happy. The godless will come to believe, once he breaks out of hell,And the believer, in his vanity, will forget about paradise. All are equal before God, we must not forget,But each one chooses when to step onto the edge.It is so important to forgive, it concerns us all! -Only a coward and a sluggard live without mistakes. For one who walks through life, stumbling is no sin;Whoever strives to help bears a cross of reproaches.I listened to the silence of abandoned villagesAnd the endless noise in city slums;I have been to holy places, ancient and steeped in prayer,Where there is no worldly bustle and no human folly. In vain I argued, rejecting folly,And silently listened to the pious voice.I know the worth of everything I know,But every hour I try to become richer.I have seen drunkards with wise eyesAnd fallen women with faces of purity.I know the strong who sobbed uncontrollablyAnd the weak who carry crosses.Do not fear a thief in a beggar's guise,And do not hurry to curse over trifles -Fear those who look respectable,A thief with a righteous face carries off part of the soul.Do not blame your neighbour for all the sins,Do not plot intrigues and do not weave gossip! You will be repaid with kindness for thisWhen you stumble on your path.Do not judge what you are not sure of;Do not promise if you have decided to lie.Do not check once you have already trusted! And do not give while planning to take back.Pray when you believe in prayer;Live only with the one you love yourself.Drive away those whom you hate; And trust your eyes, not empty words.Do not expect that your earthly lifeWill continue in heaven.Without hell you will not know paradise,And without a soul you are only dust.EpilogueThe more trials there are in life,The stronger faith must be.For there is no excuse for despair! So live in holiness and love life. -
Sunbeam on the Wall original RU
Lyrics: Sergio RykovMusic: Sergio Rykov · 24.03.2024Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.Dedicated to all of us - the living and the departed.Intro (read as a poem)Before God all are one, we were taught,And then divided, made to believe that only the saints -Muhammad, Buddha and Jesus - could create the holy wordBefore the face of the Lord, sternly, reminding and frightening. We build borders where life flows, heedless of them.Diligently watering our fears, trying out the depth of the knife,We poison generations, imposing grief and blame,In muffled thunder, with rapture, we tear beauty apart.Forgetting the past, we don't see the reasons either,We only hide anger, darkness in the heart.Who will say that we won't disfigure ourselves for no reason? And we throw the bridle of guilt over justice, reproaching ourselves.I open my eyes and lie calmly,I feel my heart, the cat in the corner,A ray of sun flickers, sparkling on the wardrobe,And suddenly it dawns on me - I am alive! It echoes in my head - how good it is!The world around me freezes, and thenThe clock, trembling, keeps on ticking,Everything returns to the circle of cares.Chorus (lively)I see a sunbeam on the wall,Let this day smile at me!The light of joy flows all around,Gently kissing my heart, my friend.A sunny day, a small step,The attentive look of curious eyes,Breakfast, the road, work, lunch,But something else colours the trail.Someone talks, someone sits in silence,Thoughts and feelings burn in a fire,Pain, like poison, flares up and lures,Bitterness pulses and hums.InterludeChorus (lively)In memory the faces of the departed sing:We are fine - we have found shelter here!I want to cry, to laugh until I sob,To pour out the pain, to forgive a heap of grievances. How can I tell that I am alive too? That I feel pain and want to go home? That I cry, I scream, I live with love,But I know - I always begin with myself.Chorus (lively)Interlude (softly)May all living beings be happy!May love erase all the borders of fear and madness,Filling us with faith and giving us strength to act for the good of others.I am very sorry, forgive me. Thank you, and I love you. -
Take Care of Yourself original RU
Music: Sergio Rykov · 22.03.2024Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.Take care of yourself, do you hear?...No need to wound your heart with sadness.Morning coffee, chin a little higher,Let your soul and eyes smile with gladness. All shall pass — treasure every moment,Keeping only the good in memory.Hold no pain, seek forgiveness freely,Forgiving others' wrongs with mercy.Let the negatives go from your thinking,Being too strict with yourself is not worth it.In this life only love has true meaning,Everything else is fleeting and doubtful.Summing up the day toward the evening,When the stars start to touch the rooftop,Wrap yourself in a warm cozy blanket,Take care of yourself, do you hear?... -
Forgive Me original RU
Lyrics: Sergio RykovMusic: Sergio Rykov · 10.01.2024Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.Who are you to me - a friend or just someone I know?I remember your gaze, that burning gazeThat painfully twisted your face,A silhouette slipping out of my hands.Who? You. To me. Isn't it clear?Don't you feel the falseness and the growing coldness,This burning emptiness and distance,In my "It's all fine, don't wo-o-orry".Who are you to me? Like a mantra stuck in my head -Nonsense, creeping in and in, winding me up.I can no longer tell where the truth is and whereI made it up myself and then believed it myself.Who? To me? I don't care anymore,But why then can't I fall asleep? Why do myriads of thoughts and phrasesSwarm and repeat themselves in every way.Who are you to me? And who is saying this to me?What is this voice inside that keeps on repeating,Locking inside itself all of my pa-a-a-a-ain,Not giving it away and not sharing.Who am I then? Why can't I see myself?Only a sniffling nose is heard in the silence.Only the trembling of shoulders from a silent scream.Only a downcast gaze from within. Why does it hurt so much? Oh God!It aches - my heart, alive and trembling.Tender, gentle, vulnerable.Endlessly open and so warm.A sigh. Deep, with relief.Shoulders straighten, the gaze lifts. An old trauma, again, almost, probably. It makes me stir up the poison. What? Am I. Doing. Why?Why am I breaking into a thousand piecesOur bond - many-sided, castBy hours of our talks and meetings.Love. It seems that is what I forgot,Going deep into myself in the moment.Into my pain, forgetting about you.A sigh. A breath. Easier. -
Olive Leaves original RU
Lyrics: Sergio RykovMusic: Sergio Rykov · 01.01.2024Automatic translation — only to convey the meaning. The song is sung in: ru.In waves, in waves — the dawn again.Old ones and new ones send us their greetings. With lightness, with joy they softly sing,They ring, smiling, asking for shelter. The seagulls' cry, a sharp beat of a wing,A breeze from the sea, a wave rises up,Clusters of pearls glitter and sparkle,Like scattered sunlight they fly up, babbling.Death follows us here and there,It comes suddenly, or so it seems to us.Behind it you won't see the flow of loveThat carries death's lesson around the world.Pain meets us in its grip, and suddenlyThe thought comes to look around.A wind of lightness and joy has blown,As if someone invisible fluttered up.Thoughts rush after it, far away in a swarm,Anxiety leaves, the veil falls away. The colours of tenderness pour onto the canvas,Resentments are gone, and with them anger and spite. He is not here, he has gone home again. He took our pain and gave us back love.Olive leaves rustle in the wind,Life goes on again in the morning.A delicate sunset, a pale pink gleam,The spray of waves, the sharp cry of gulls,In waves, in waves — the dawn again.Joy gently trembles in its wake.
